BOTTINI

While walking around the medieval streets of Siena, admiring the marvels of art and architecure, most are not aware that underneath is 25-km system of tunnels that has brought running water into the houses of the city, since the 12th C. This system of tunnels is called "Bottini".

Guided tours into the Bottini can be organised by "La Diana" association, in spring and autumn, but should be reserved well in advance.
