Although we admit that the Siena's hills do not make it a town for easy bike riding, it can offer a range of challenging roads and trails, and an opportunity to admire one of Italy's most romantic towns and surrounding countryside, while getting some excercise at the same time. Also, contact the stores for information about organized bike tours, where they drive you in a van to a site in the countryside, provide helmets, bikes and guided tours, offering an unforgettable day! Scooters can also be rented, for those who want to cruise around Italian style.

The office of tourism has a brochure titled "terre di siena in bici," offering information on many itineraries for biking through Siena's countryside. Bike tours throughout Chianti, Val D'Elsa, Val Di Merse, Crete Senesi e Val D'Arbia, Val D'Orcia, Val Di Chiana and Amiata are some of the itineraries highlighted.
